If you’ve ever had the urge to wear your favorite photo as a pattern on your shoes, then your dream is about to come true.
Adidas is teasing an app for its ZX Flux sneakers that would let you take a photo with your mobile device and then have it printed on a pair of shoes, which you can purchase when the app goes live in August.
“Brands have given customers the ability to customize and personalize their shoes for more than a decade, but this is absolutely game changing. Never has anyone been able to personalize a shoe to this level,” says Matt Halfhill, founder and CEO of sneaker blog Nice Kicks. “The technology for this essentially makes adidas product the canvas for personalization and branding the way a blank T-shirt is for wearables. Endless possibilities with this technology.”
