SUMMER LEAGUE SESSIONS FEATURES P-LO, MAYZIN & ELOHIM
A new addition to the Summer League festival footprint in 2022 was the inaugural Summer League Sessions, a musical showcase highlighting rising young stars on the scene. Produced by HallPass Media and held at Virgin Hotels Las Vegas’ 24 Oxford venue, the first ever Summer League Sessions featured performances from Bay Area hip-hop artist P-Lo, Gold Blooded Entertainment’s Mayzin, and headlined by surging EDM artist and Rock Mafia’s own, Elohim.
The NBA Summer League has long served as the premier platform for up-and-coming hoop stars to showcase their talents to the world. Summer League Sessions takes a similar approach, as tomorrow’s stars of the music industry take center stage for all to witness. For years Summer League has been the backdrop of launching new talent and providing fans with a glimpse into the future of the NBA, now we’re doing the same with music and art. By bolstering the overall entertainment component of Summer League, fans, players, NBA personnel and the music community now have the ideal settling tied into the fabric of the event. “We all have a passion for basketball, but music is not far behind. We’ve seen how influential these young musical acts can become and by creating a festival atmosphere and platform around Summer League, it’s a natural fit to grow our audience and for the artists to become part of the event,” said Albert Hall, co-founder of NBA Summer League.
The event was opened by Bay Area legend & west coast staple, P-Lo, whose most popular songs same squad and Put Me on Somethin’ boast over twenty-three million (23M) and almost eighteen million (18M) streams on Spotify respectively. P-Lo was followed by another predominant Bay Area artist, Mayzin, who also possesses an aggregate Spotify stream count north of a million streams. The Oakland, CA native and rapper/singer/producer is also proudly the first musical artist in history to sign with an NBA team as he became the Lead Artist for Golden State Entertainment (GSE), the official entertainment label of the Golden State Warriors, earlier this year. Finally, the event was headlined by EDM up-and-comer, Elohim, who has been endorsed by Marshmellow, Skrillex & Louis The Child, three of the planet’s most popular & iconic EDM artists. Elohim put on an electric performance featuring some of her most recognizable hits like FYM (featuring hip-hop superstar, Wiz Khalifa), Sensations and Sleepy Eyes, each recording over seven million (7M), seventeen million (17M) and fifty-eight million (58M) Spotify streams respectively.
Fans can expect a stellar lineup for Summer League Sessions 23’, dates, venue and artists to be announced next spring.
