NBA Summer League and Tomorrow’s Stars Foundation Earns Most Unique Entry at 40th Annual MLK Day Parade in Las Vegas
Our team in Las Vegas participated in the 40th annual MLK parade on January 17, 2022 with this being the 15th year of participating, representing NBA Summer League and Tomorrow’s Stars Foundation. This year’s theme was “Living the Dream — The Time is Right to Do What’s Right.”
The Martin Luther King Parade Week Committee held the 40th Annual Awards Breakfast on the following Saturday, January 22, 2002 at the MLK Senior and Community Center located on the Historic West Side of Las Vegas. The event wrapped up a week of MLK Parade activity. In attendance at the honorary breakfast were local community and business leaders, the MLK organizing committee, and parade participants. Award winners were presented with their trophies by Wendell P. Williams, former Nevada State Assemblyman and parade founder.
The MGM Resorts NBA Summer League and Tomorrow’s Stars Foundation’s parade entry “Be the Dream” was awarded with “Most Unique Parade Entry”. In presenting the award this year, Wendell P. Williams congratulated and thanked the NBA Summer League team on our 15 years of participation in the parade and our continuing support of the community.
The Las Vegas MLK Parade is one of the largest and longest running parades in the country. This year’s attendance was estimated have been over 20,000 and was featured on TV’s FOX5, CBS KLAS TV8, and ABC KTNV 13.
