Named after NFL Hall of Famer Ronnie Lott, The Lott IMPACT Trophy Honors College Football’s Defensive Best in Character and Performance. The Lott Trophy Award Ceremony took place on December 14th at the Pacific Club in Newport Beach. The ceremony was televised live on Fox Sports and hosted by on-air talent Joel Klatt and Jenny Taft. Mike Pereira, Former Vice President of Officiating in the National Football League was the featured speaker and Tim McCarthy, former member of the United States Secret Service who took a bullet for President Ronald Reagan during a failed assassination attempt, received the honorary Lott IMPACT Trophy. The winner of the 2014 Lott IMPACT Trophy was Eric Kendricks of UCLA. The Pacific Club IMPACT Foundation will donate $25,000 to UCLA’s general scholarship fund and $5,000 to each of the finalists’ schools (Alabama – Landon Collins, Duke – David Helton, and Washington – Hau’oli Kikaha. In 10 years, the Foundation has now donated more than $1 million, including nearly $500,000 to universities throughout the country.
