La Vegas (KSNV) — As the basketball world returns to Las Vegas, NBA Summer League co-founder Albert Hall joined Bryan Salmond to discuss what fans can expect from the 2026 edition of the premier offseason basketball event.
Standing with Salmond, Hall reflected on an incredible milestone as he and fellow co-founder Warren LeGarie celebrate their 22nd season of building what has become the NBA’s ultimate summer showcase. Hall spoke with the same passion and excitement that helped launch the event more than two decades ago, expressing pride in how the Summer League has grown from a small gathering of teams into a global basketball destination featuring every NBA franchise, top draft picks, international prospects, coaches, scouts, executives, celebrities, and fans from around the world.
One of the biggest talking points for 2026 is the NBA’s continued commitment to innovation. Hall explained that Summer League remains the league’s testing ground for new technology, giving the NBA an opportunity to evaluate advancements in officiating, game operations, broadcasts, statistical tracking, and fan engagement before they are potentially introduced during the regular season. Las Vegas continues to serve as the perfect environment for experimenting with ideas that could help shape the future of the game.
