Sports Business Classroom’s Summer League Studio Expands to Two Production Sets

The state-of-the-art Summer League Studio Powered by Sports Business Classroom, in collaboration with VSiN (Vegas Stats and Information Network), made its return to the Thomas & Mack Center concourse at this year’s 2023 NBA 2K24 Summer League. In 2019 HallPass Media and VSL Properties, with their extensive experience in live event broadcasts, content development, and video production sets, introduced the groundbreaking concept of an on-site studio with a modest broadcast table and backdrop. Since then, the studio set has exponentially grown to meet industry standard practices, becoming the go-to space for some of the top and up-and-coming sports shows to record. With increased demand and activity, this year’s on-site studio set expanded to accommodate two production sets.

The main production set, Studio A, kept close to last year’s build out of multiple camera angles, three independent television screens for show branding, premier lighting fixtures and additional behind the scenes production equipment. The new Studio B staged beside Studio A was propped with faux-grass wall panels, a Summer League neon sign, lighting fixtures and high chairs, offering a more casual and intimate setting.

Both studio sets played host to over seventeen (17) shows producing over seventy (70) episodes/pieces of video content with appearances from celebrities, executives and media personalities from the likes of former 2x NBA Champion Isiah Thomas, Timberwolves head coach Chris Finch, Pelicans Head Coach Willie Green, NBA TV’s Matt Winer, NFL stars DK Metcalf and Deebo Samuel, ESPN’s Bobby Marks, Influencer Tristan Jass and many others. In addition, Sports Business Classroom’s “Media and Broadcast” students also took full use of the studio, developing their skill sets in both producing and hosting live daily post game shows.
