Rising Stars: Honoring the 2023 Vegas Summer League Intern Award Winners

The Vegas Summer League internship program (VSL Talent) consists of young, ambitious professionals from across the globe. Every year, on the final night of Summer League, several VSL interns are recognized and celebrated with awards during the annual wrap-up dinner.

This year we awarded five (5) rising stars that stood out during Summer League. Announced by the Founders of Summer League Albert Hall & Warren LeGarie, the spotlight was shined upon the esteemed award winners, each of them a beacon of success and dedication.

Miss Congeniality: Jasmine Rogers

Voted on by her peers, Jasmine Rogers was awarded Miss Congeniality. As a first year intern, her positive attitude and unwavering support had touched the hearts of everyone she worked with. Jasmine’s speech was a testament to her character, emphasizing the power of unity and kindness in achieving shared goals.

Mr. Congeniality: Mauricio Cunille

Voted on by his peers and known for his magnetic personality and ability to turn strangers into friends, Mauricio Cunille received the Mr. Congeniality award. His charisma and leadership made an indelible mark on his fellow interns. In his acceptance speech, Mauricio emphasized the importance of networking, reminding everyone that every connection could lead to an opportunity.

Most Improved: Brittani Russell

As a seasoned VSL veteran who has served different roles over the years, Brittani Russell was voted as Most Improved. Brittani’s willingness and ability to take on any task proved how dedicated and hard working she was. We’re extremely proud to see her continue to learn and grow each and every year!

Rookie of the Year: JD Salo

Despite his tall stature, JD Salo stood out in a number of ways that earned him the Rookie of the Year award. JD’s commitment and great attitude set him apart, gaining admiration of both peers and mentors. In his acceptance speech, JD expressed his gratitude for the chance to prove himself, motivating others to seize every opportunity.

MVP: Alex Saposhnik

Second year intern Alex Saposhnik was announced as the 2023 MVP. Leading up to and all throughout Summer League, Alex consistently displayed exceptional skills and leadership, always in good spirits. In his humble acceptance speech, he thanked his mentors and teammates for their constant support. 

The night continued with laughter, applause, and heartfelt conversations. It was a gathering of future leaders, inspired by the award winners’ accomplishments. Although these award winners were honored, the entire VSL Talent 2023 group did an exceptional job and we couldn’t be more proud of their efforts.
