NEWPORT BEACH, CA. – UCLA Linebacker Eric Kendricks has been named the Lott IMPACT Player of the Week.

The 6-0, 228-pound junior from Fresno led the Bruins with 13 tackles and had one of the six interceptions that led to a 34-27 win over Utah last week.

In recognition of Kendricks’ performance, the Pacific Club IMPACT Foundation, sponsors of the Lott IMPACT Trophy, will make a $1,000 donation to the general scholarship fund at UCLA.

Kendricks is the second Bruin to win the Lott IMPACT Player of the Week award, following teammate Anthony Barr, the Week 3 recipient. It is the fifth time in six weeks that the winner was from the Pac-12.

Kendricks led the Pac-12 in tackles last season with 150, which is the highest total in UCLA history behind only former All-American Jerry Robinson. Kendricks’ father Marv was the Bruins’ leading rusher in both 1970 and 1971.

A political science major, Kendricks has made the Athletic Director’s Honor Roll four times in his UCLA career. “He’s a leader on this team,” says Bruin head coach Jim Mora. “To have him out there in the huddle, directing things and looking like he did (after an injury this past summer) is a great thing for us.”
